Israeli General's wife signs Lebanon pullout petition

Originally published

Rachel Levin, the wife of Israeli Defense Forces Northern command leader Gen. Amiram Levin, has called for an immediate Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon.

The Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot said on Wednesday that Rachel Levin signed a petition calling for a unilateral Israeli withdrawal that was distributed by the Four Mothers movement several weeks ago.

She put her address and the number of her identity card on the petition. Gen. Amiram Liven caused a heated debate in November when he proposed that Israeli forces withdraw gradually from south Lebanon without waiting to reach a peace agreement.
