Iraq condemns American - Israeli - Turkish maneuvers

Mohamed El-Sahhaf, the Iraqi foreign minister, described Mediterranean military maneuvers beginning today between US, Turkish and Israeli forces as a Zionist and American conspiracy against the Arab nation to prevent unity among the Arab states.

The Iraqi minister called for unity in order to confront these actions. He also warned regional countries that these maneuvers had provoked Egypt, Syria and Iran who in return denounced or warned against the maneuvers, which are considered a direct threat to the Arab nation, he continued.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stated that the maneuvers send a negative message, considering the current tensions in the region.
