Originally published

Tunisian and Moroccan companies are trying to boost their presence in the US market. A delegation comprising twenty Moroccan businessmen headed by Mahdy Atouf visited the US. The visit was organized by the Moroccan Center for Developing the Exports.

The delegation comprises representatives from 14 companies who are trying to enter the North American markets for the first time. Atouf said that the delegation can achieve great results by entering new markets especially in the fields of textiles, leather works, and canned food industries which Morocco is famous for.

Meanwhile Tunisian companies have taken strong steps in those markets as Tunisian textile and electronic companies started to export their products to the USA last year. It is expected that Moroccan companies will reach US markets next year.

Tunisian exports to the USA are worth $45 million while the US exports to Tunisia are worth $400 million.
