Arafat to visit Damascus

Member of the PLO executive committee Asaad Abdul Rahman noted that preparations made by chairman of the PLO political department Farouk al-Qaddoumi are underway for a visit to be made by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to Damascus.

Abdul Rahman, who is responsible for the status of refugees and evacuees in the PLO said, "We follow up our contacts with our Syrian brothers for the visit," adding that President Al Assad has extended an invitation to Arafat to visit Damascus and a work agenda is drawn for the meeting."
