Granting countries offer only 10% of their commitments to Palestine

Originally published

The minister of economy and trade in Palestine, Maher Al Masry, said that the delay of the granting countries in paying their aid to Palestine will badly affect the investment environment. Palestine received only about $100 million out of $860 million pledged by the granting countries.

He pointed out that work is underway on more than one track to enact commerce laws in order to strengthen the Palestinian economy. Negotiations with the Israeli side are also being held to expand the check points in Jericho and Al Karama and also to set up a Palestinian free trade zone.
