Originally published

Sudanese Alliance Forces (SAF) leaders yesterday announced that the joint forces have shot and sunk a military boat, owned by the ruling National Islamic Front (NIF), near Agig sea port. A statement issued by the SAF said that the NIF used military boats in bombarding Agig 6, which has been won by the opposition, an official source said.

It said that the joint forces, which include the Sudan People's Liberation Army, the SAF and El-Beja congress forces, resisted the bombardment, sank one of the government's boats and killed a boatman.

The statement also said that the Sudanese government is boosting its marine forces with a number of war boats, Al Khartoum daily said today.
