US participates in military training in Cairo

The joint military training "Bright Star 97" will start next week in which 7 countries will participate including; Egypt, USA, France, Britain, UAE, and Kuwait in addition to observers from 20 other countries.

The main phases of the training will continue until the beginning of November with the participation of the seven countries whose forces already arrived in Egypt.

The previous phases of training included live ammunition shooting, training on protecting important sites, moving mechanical infantry units by sea, diving, searching and saving operations, mine-finding, landing operations, parachuting operations to land individuals and equipment in addition to air raids on enemy sites.

The previous training also included sea landing operations in the area of Al Amid, west of Alexandria on the coast of the Mediterranean, by British and Egyptian troops. A joint British, UAE and Egyptian air landing operation from the air was done in the area of the Valley of Aboy where troops from the sea and air landing operations met in the intersection of the Al Amid and Al Nasr roads to protect the important site of Khashm Al Aish.
