Update: Azam's Egyptian lawyer submits appeal
Editor's note: This is being published in the "Afternoon Edition", while the other Azam story was published in the "Morning Edition".
Egyptian Lawyer Farid El Dib refuted his withdrawal from the case of Azam Azam, adding that he is trying to submit an appeal to the Egyptian president to release Azam.
El Dib mentioned that his relation with the Israelis was not affected by the sentence as the final ruling is up to the court, not the defense. He added that the Israeli officials who attended the hearing sessions in the court lauded his role in the case.
He clarified that after his summer tour of Paris and Rome, he received the papers of the ruling. He has studied them and is about to submit an appeal for the release of Azam.
The State Security Higher Court sentenced Azam to 15 years with hard labor on August 31 this year.
