Originally published

The World Bank will hold a conference in Cairo between October 7-11 which will tackle the participation of the private sector in infrastructure projects, and the means by which the bank can finance those projects at the least risk.

The resident representative and the head of the World Bank delegation in Egypt Dr. Khaled Akram stated that the conference comes at a time when the Egyptian government is encouraging private investment in infrastructure projects, especially those related with electricity, ports and airports.

Akram added that the conference aims to display the different means of financing these projects and also the support that the World Bank can offer to the governments in collaboration with the private sector. In small meetings with the ministers, the World Bank will discuss the importance of adopting balanced policies and regulatory frameworks in cooperation with all the financing and commercial institutions. The conference will also focus on modern financial policies.
