US dentists of Arab descent in Syria
Dr. Toufik Salha, a Syrian member of al-Baath party regional leadership and chairman of the Legal and Vocational Trade Unions Bureau, received the head and members of the First Conference of US Dentists of Arab Descent in Damascus on July 2.
Addressing the guest delegates, Dr. Salha said that the Syrian president is proud of the expatriates’ stand in defense of the just Arab stances. “Under the leadership of President Assad, Syria has made great achievements, enjoyed political, economic and security stability and practiced people's democracy. Syria is working hard to establish a just and comprehensive peace that can restore in full usurped Arab rights and lands.”
The Syrian stand, he added, enjoys the full support of world public opinion, the Arab masses and the Arab summit held in Cairo.
The head of the delegates, Dr. Ja'afr Assad, reiterated the Arab expatriates’ alignment with Syria, and the Syrian president, who holds the Syrian and pan-Arab banner in defense of Arab nationalism and rights. The convening of the conference in Damascus coincides with Syria's honorable stances, and reaffirms Arab expatriates’ supportive stand.
The conference was held by the health ministry and the dentists union in collaboration with the higher education ministry and the military medical services department at Assad library in Damascus.
Addressing the conference, Dr. al-Shatti said "Syria has scored rapid development in all fields, enjoyed political and security stability, and practiced firm national unity. Other speakers referred to the mounting significance of medical cooperation between Arab expatriates and their brother dentists in the native land, Syria.
The cooperation will consolidate the country's scientific and medical progress and will further boost Syria's national and pan-Arab stances in defense of the Arab nation's issues, existence and dignity. Taking part in the three-day conference are 400 Syrian Arab dentists and 40 other dentists from Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, the US, Germany and India.
