AL denied being pressured over Khartoum summit
The secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Mousa, said that the Arab summit will be held at its set time in the Sudanese capital Khartoum and denied any pressures to transfer it to another state.
Moussa was responding to what was rumored on American pressures to transfer the place of the summit from Sudan.
However, news reports said that the Arab League criticized a draft resolution proposed to the American congress states to pressure on not convening the next Arab summit in Sudan.
The US draft resolution alleged that the Sudanese government permits acts of genocide in Darfur District and deliberate obstruction of the efforts of the European Union to achieving security in Darfur.
One AL official considered that the draft resolution is an interference in its internal affairs.
The consultant at the al-Sayed Hosni said that the Arab League made contacts to this end with several Arab, American and African sides as well as several member of the American congress over not interfering in the AL affairs.
Hosni appealed members of the American Senate not to discuss the draft resolution or approving it.
