Fatah group clashes with Hamas
Israeli occupation forces blew up today a car in the West Bank city of Qalqiliya, WAFA reported, adding that Israeli soldiers, positioned at the east entrance of the city, "stopped the car of the merchant Mohammed Malloh and blew it up as he was carrying good."
Meantime, nine persons including five members of the Palestinian security forces were injured to the south of Gaza in armed clashes between activists from the Palestine national liberation movement Fatah and others from the Islamic resistance movement Hamas.
The clashes erupted on Friday on the background of results of the legislative elections in which Hamas gained an overwhelming victory over the Fatah movement. The clashes took place in the context of the celebrations of Hamas supporters, and during the protests by Fatah against these results.
In the course of internal implications over Fatah's loss in the legislative elections, thousands of supporters of the movement demonstrated in Gaza and in al-Nuseirat camp in the center of the sector and in Khan Younis city in the south, demanding the resignation of the Fatah's leadership after they held it responsible for the defeat before Hamas.
Activists from the Fatah movement burnt several cars in the course of their objections outside the building of the Palestinian national council in Gaza. Gunmen opened fire in the air.
Hundreds of Fatah supporters took to the streets very angry raising yellow banners, including 100 armed men, and headed to the house of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Gaza demanding through loudspeakers the resignation of all "corrupt" officials in Fatah and putting them on trial. They also urged Abbas not to take part in any coalition government formed by Hamas.
The matter reached such an extreme that al-Aqsa martyrs group, a military wing of Fatah, threatened any official in Fatah if they would take part in a political government led by Hamas.
Meantime, Hamas continued its celebrations of its victory. Some 20,000 of its supporters organized a celebration in Khan Younis and the same celebrations were held in the courtyard of al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.
