Mubarak phones Abbas on Palestinian elections

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday had a telephone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during on the Palestinian legislative elections results. Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit said the election imposes a new political reality "which we hope will contribute to the peace process."

Mubarak hoped for closing ranks among the Palestinians to achieve peace and their aspirations.
