Sharaa and Qaddoumi discuss regional developments

Syria's Foreign Minister Farouq al-Sharaa on Monday discussed with head of the PLO Political Department, Farouq Qaddoumi, latest developments in the region and in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Qaddoumi stressed that the Palestinian people with all their factions stand by Syria in facing the pressures that target its national and pan-Arab stances.

The meeting was attended by Director of the Arab Nation Department at the Foreign Ministry, Rustom al-Zoubi, and the PLO Representative in Damascus Mahmoud al-Khalidi.

Following the meeting, Qaddoumi told reporters that it is necessary to support steadfast stances in the face of conspiracies and pressure directed against Syria and the Palestinian people.

He added that the continuing Palestinian resistance is the only way for freedom and ending the occupation.

The Palestinian official described as incomplete the ongoing elections in the Palestinian territories as they are run under Israeli occupation.
