Releasing five arrested Syrians is according to law: Syrian minister

Originally published

Syria's Minister of Justice announced yesterday that setting free five arrested Syrians recently by authorities was to implement the valid law.

It comes according to the specialized courts decisions that urge to halt the execution of the rest of the punishment when meeting the required conditions, the minister said.

In a statement to SANA, Mohammed al-Ghofari said the enforced law allowed the release of convicted persons by a punishment or a crime after executing three quarters of the punishment on condition of proving that they are really reformed.

Riyad Seif, Mamoun Homsi, Walid al-Bunni, Fawz Tello and Habib Issa were announced free from prison last week.
