Al-Qaida claims responsibility over bombarding north Israel
Al-Qaida organization in Iraq claimed responsibility over an attack by Katusha missiles on Tuesday at north Israel, the first of its kind from South Lebanon.
In a statement issued on Thursday on the Internet, the organization said "the lions of monotheism ( al-Tawhid) of al- Qaida organization" carried out a new attack by firing 10 missiles "at selected objectives in the country of the Jews, as from the land of Muslims in Lebanon."
The statement which borne the signature of Abu Maisara said that "Our brothers launched the operation as scheduled and completed their withdrawal," adding that "this blessed attack comes in the course of al-Qaida fighters execution of the oath taken by its leader Osama Bin Laden." The statement which has not yet been confirmed and was issued on a site used by the armed Iraqi groups concluded to saying "worse is coming."
Worthy mentioning that the missile bombardment which resulted on Tuesday in injuring three Israelis in Kreyat Shemona al-Khalesah and Shaloumi village was followed by an Israeli raid against caves used by fighters of the People's Front For The Liberation Of Palestine- General Command south of Beirut, and this resulted in injuring two persons.
In the first Israeli comment on the al-Qaida statement, a security source said "should this be true, it means that al-Qaida infiltrated into the lines of Hizbullah, and this makes it able separately to launch such number of missiles." The spokesman said that "such allegation should be viewed with reservation."
