Lebanese Shabaa Farms part of domestic politics

Originally published

The Israeli bombardment of the Palestinian positions in Lebanon came at a time when the case of Syrian- Lebanese border demarcation, especially the Shabaa Farms border issue started to raise a new crisis in Lebanon.

A statement by The Forces Of March 14, the plenary frame for the Lebanese forces opposing Damascus, warned Hizbullah over the possibility of breaking the national consensus agreement.

The Druze leader Walid Junblat brought back the questions of defining the situation of the occupied Shabaa Farms to the forefront, and this blocked reconciling the coalition of Amal-Hizbullah to the government.

On the other hand, the Lebanese Hizbullah part on Tuesday refused to comment on statements made by Walid Junblat in which he demanded Hizbullah to prove its commitment to Lebanon ahead of other countries.
