Israel to return bodies of Hizbullah fighters
The Israeli army said that it will return back the bodies of three fighters of the Hizbullah party they had held following violent border clashes which took place earlier this week in south Lebanon.
In a statement, the army said that following an official request proposed by the Lebanese government, Israel will hand over the bodies of the Hizbullah fighters to Lebanon on Friday ( today), in al-Naqoura border town.
The Lebanese prime minister Fouad Sinioura made open this request during his visit to Qatar on Wednesday.
One Israeli security source said that "There is hope in Israel that this initiative will help to restore back calm on the border." The Israeli daily Haaretz said that the handing over operation will be taken place via the Red Cross and the UN peace keeping forces.
In its ordinary session on Thursday, the Lebanese government discussed the situation in Lebanon and Sinioura held Israel responsible for the escalations by its continued occupation of the Shabaa Farms.
Four gunmen were killed during the attack which was launched by Hizbullah on Monday. Lebanese security sources said that its aims was to capture Israeli soldiers that can be exchanged for Arabs held in Israel, but it failed.
The Hizbullah party group took one of the bodies, but the other bodies remained on the Israeli side of al-Ghajar village divided between Syria and Lebanon.
