Lebanese president wants to stay in his post
In a televised message to the Lebanese, President Emil Lahoud addressed on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of Lebanon's national day, which falls today, he called on the Lebanese for national dialogue in order to solve internal conflicts.
Lahoud considered that Lebanon once again falls under what he called "the microscope of collaborators in line with pressures made against it with the aim to impose external schemes complying with their interests and eventually do not serve the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese people."
The Lebanese president warned against converting the country from a gate of contact between the East and the West to a gate for imposing policies threatening Arab unity, Lebanon's security and interests.
The Lebanese president renewed his assertion that he will remain in his post until the end of his presidential term regardless to the campaigns of skepticism and provocation he has been facing from the Parliamentary majority led by Saad al-Hariri.
