Lebanon supports Syria, will not allow threats to it: Siniora
Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad al-Seniora has described the outcomes of his visit to Syria and his discussions with President Bashar al-Assad and Prime Minister Naji Otari as very positive.
In a statement to Tishrin Daily on Sunday, Siniora said that he held frank and constructive dialogue with the Syrian officials, asserting the joint interests, history, present and future of relations. He stressed the two states joint desire to boost these relations based on mutual respect.
Siniora underlined Lebanon's commitment to its Arab identity, and will always support Syria, and will not constitute any threat to it and will not sign any agreement with Israel unless all the Arab states do.
He said that "we respect agreements signed with Syria," expressing hope that these agreements will contribute to enhancing relations between the two states.
Siniora denounced the Israeli interference in Lebanon's internal affairs and defamation of the national resistance.
He called on the international community to stop the Israeli continued violations of Lebanon's sovereignty.
