Syria underlines borders with Lebanon have not been closed
Syria has underlined that borders with Lebanon have never been closed at any time, asserting that intensive measures taken at border crossing points were for security reasons because of the seizure of explosives and arms.
In a statement issued by al-Baath newspaper Wednesday, informed sources pointed out that the Syrian authorities have taken measures at the borders in order to facilitate the traffic while increasing security and customs forces, additional work hours, as well as postponing construction and expansion activities at Dabousiah crossing point.
In this regard, Manager of Customs Bassel Sannoufa said the traffic through border crossing points is normal, asserting that trucks started to inter the Syrian lands after postponing the construction activities that hindered the Lebanese trucks' movement to the Syrian lands and consequently affected the economic situation in Lebanon.
