Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hammoud on Sunday said his country is committed to the UN resolutions regarding the Middle East peace process based on the Land-for-Peace formula and "Madrid terms of reference".

"This is the best way for Europeans if they wish to help in achieving the just and comprehensive peace in the region," Hammoud added upon arrival to Luxemburg to attend a meeting of the EU-Med foreign ministers.

He stressed Lebanon is keen to have best relations with Europe, calling on the EU countries to play its role in all issues that concern Arab countries.

Meanwhile, Lebanese MP Michael Daher underlined the deep-rooted relations between Syria and Lebanon.

"We hold distinguished ties with Syria.. the interest of Lebanon is to preserve complete solidarity with it as Syria's power is a guarantee to Lebanon and a strong Lebanon is a power to Syria," Daher told a delegation of EU election monitors in the Lebanese region of Akkar.
