Moroccan phosphates and fertilizers companies among the leading ones in Africa
The Moroccan companies of phosphates and fertilizes are leading the sector market in Africa, says weekly "Jeune Afrique/L'intelligent" (JAI), published in Paris, in a special edition on the 500 leading companies in the continent.
With an annual progression of 13%, "Maroc phosphore," a branch of state-owned phosphates group "OCP," is still holding the 3rd rank among Africa's 25 first African companies operating in chemical industry, according to the magazine which notes that the company is drawing profit from the considerable growth in orders from Latin American and Asian countries.
Morocco, which boasts important phosphates reserves, has also developed its fertilizers production industries, writes the weekly.
Five other Moroccan companies operating in the sector are also included in the continent's 500 largest companies.
