Al-Sharaq al-Awsat: Source at U.S. embassy in Damascus denies visa issuance suspension

A source at the American embassy in Damascus denied that the embassy has stopped granting entry visa to the USA.

The source told the London-based daily al-Sharaq al-Awsat in a statement published Tuesday that procedures for granting the visa for applicants used to take almost two months since 2000, but now it only takes two weeks.

The source added there has never been any stop or suspension in granting the entry visa.
