Spain counts on Morocco to incept 'Beit Al Arab' to further Arab-Moslem-European dialog, Moratinos
Spanish foreign minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos said Spanish government relies on Moroccan support for the inception of "Bait Al Arab" in Madrid to further dialog between the Arab-Moslem and European civilisations.
The institution, Spanish authorities hope to open by next spring at the latest, will conduct scientific and strategic research on issues relating to the Arab-Moslem and European worlds, Moratinos told the Moroccan News agency MAP on the occasion of his visit to Morocco started Wednesday in the Northern town of Tangier.
The centre, to have a branch in Cordoba, Andalusia, will be a forum to spread knowledge on the Arab world for a better understanding, said Moratinos recalling a previous meeting with Arab Ambassadors in Madrid on the creation of "Beit Al Arab."
The Spanish diplomat also recalled the initiative came as a result of the speech made by Spanish Premier, Jose-Luis Zapatero, before the UNO proposing a strategic alliance between the two civilisations to dialog and prevent the creation of "a wall that could emerge between them."
