News reports said that a prominent Islamic opposition member accused by the Sudanese security forces as the mastermind for the recent coupe attempt to topple the government had left the country.

The deputy secretary of the Sudanese People Congress party ( opposition) which is led by Hassan al-Turabi said in a telephone call with al-Jazeera TV from Germany where he lives that the secretary of organizational communication in the party, al-Haj Adam Youssef, has been chased since March by the authorities and the party decided to take him out of the country in prevention of the numerous acts of breaking in by the government while looking for him.

Al-Haj refused to disclose the side where the wanted man arrived or the date of his departure from Sudan and confined to saying "the place where he does exist will be announced after completing the arrangements." For his part, the political official for the People's Congress party in the UK, Saddiq Muhammad Othman, considered that accusing al-Haj Youssef of making the coupe is not a valid accusation.

He explained that getting Youssef out of Sudan was arranged with opposition and regional political forces, adding that his place will be revealed today.
