Khatami: Iran seeking stronger ties with Egypt

Iranian President Mohamed Khatami affirmed yesterday Tehran's keenness on promoting relations with Egypt in the various domains.

"This assertion came in a friendly letter sent by Khatami to his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak," the Iranian news agency said. Khatami is en route to Sudan as part of a tour that includes Algeria and Oman.
