One man was sentenced to 15 years in jail for criminal association to prepare and commit terrorist acts, forgery and use of forged documents, drug trafficking, unauthorized public meetings and activities within an unauthorized association.

Another, in the same case, was delivered an 8-year sentence and fined 10,000 Dh (around US$ 1,100) for drug trafficking. Other charges were dismissed.

In the second case, four individuals were sentenced to 4 years in jail and three others to 3 years. One was handed down a two-year sentence for non-denunciation of terrorist acts while another, sued for holding unauthorized public meetings, was fined 5,000 DH.

In the third case, the tribunal sentenced an individual to two years in jail for criminal association to prepare and commit terrorist acts, unauthorized public meetings and activities within an unauthorized association.

The court postponed looking into a case involving 21 persons, sued under the anti-terrorism law.

Morocco enacted the anti-terrorism law on the wake of the May 16 terrorist attacks that rocked Casablanca, killing over 45 and injuring over a hundred.
