Wanted Saudis and their Pakistani escort detained in Saudi Arabia
The Saudi security forces detained two wanted Saudis and one Pakistani accompanying them in Breida city in the heart of the kingdom.
A spokesman for the ministry of the interior said the security forces were following up the wanted men in the area and were able to arrest them upon their arrival in Breida which is 230 Km far to the north west of Riyadh. No further detailed were disclosed.
This came at a time when the Saudi minister of the interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz announced that the police was able to foil several "terrorist attacks and will disclose details on these operations."
The Saudi dailies quoted Nayef as saying during his meeting with Saudi official yesterday evening " I want to say something which was not made clear and there will be a time when it will be announced, that great events and explosions were about to be made but the security men succeeded in discovering these acts or foiling them." He added "I can say confidentially that what had happened is not more than 5% or 6% of what we could defuse." The Saudi prince vowed that the Kingdom will continue its efforts to chase what he called the terrorists.
Worthy mentioning that since 2003, a group linked to al-Qaida organization claimed responsibility for several explosions and kidnapping operations that targeted foreigners in the kingdom.
