Nonaligned countries reject US unilateralism

Originally published

The Nonaligned Movement Member States on Monday stressed support to the Palestinian people to restore their usurped rights, asserting rejection to the US unilateralism in tackling the international issues, particularly the Iraqi issue.

In the final statement issued by organization's Ministerial Conference held in Durban South of Africa, 115 states condemned Israeli wall of separation in the West Bank since it violates the human rights, pointing out to the Israeli government's insistence on building this wall ignoring the UN's relevant resolutions.

Participants called upon the UN Security Council to punish Israel and compel it to stop building the wall in addition to their call for boycotting Israeli products.

Foreign Ministers called for challenging Washington's unilateral tendency in the region.

They also stressed importance of activating the role of the UN to stop any unilateral action, particularly in the domain of combating terrorism, asserting that the Organization is the only means to develop an international policy towards terrorism.
