Belgium calls for speedy finalization of EU-Syria association agreement

Belgian's Foreign Minister Louis Michele on Wednesday stressed his country's support to deepen ties with Syria and called to speed up as to conclude the association agreement between Syria and the EU and put it into implementation.

In a statement to the London- based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Michele announced his plans to visit Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt as well as a number of the Arab Gulf states next month. His statement came after the annual meeting of Arab ambassadors accredited in Belgium.
