Syrian- EU Association Agreement expected to be finalized soon

Western diplomatic sources concerned with the Syrian Association agreement with the European Union expected to reach shortly the agreement following thorough discussions held in Brussels during the past few days.

The sources said that " an inter- European discussion is being made " in Brussels about Syria's joining of the Association Agreement and its basics. The current discussions are focused, held between one side demanding Syria to sign an additional article ( tougher regarding the agreement concerning the mass destruction weapons ) and another considers that " what was signed so far " is enough for this phase.

It is no more secret that Britain, German and Holland represent the first side. But despite the fact that the emphasis was made on the continued negotiations, other European sources said that the discussions have reached "final stages " expecting "reaching a solution to be very soon."
