Bahrain's minister of information Nabil al-Homor said that the time and venue of convening the Arab summit " is left for the council of the Arab foreign ministers which is presumed to be on May 8 and 9 in Cairo.

Al-Homor explained that " consultations continue among the Arab leaders about this issue.. Bahrain considers that defining a date and venue for convening the summit is left for the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers."

Replying to a question on the declared date for the summit on May 22, al-Homer said that defining a date and place for convening the Arab summit has not been decided yet," adding that the announced date is not "final." For its part, diplomatic sources at the Arab League said that the set date for the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers in preparation for the summit is not agreed upon yet ultimately. The sources indicated contacts made by the secretary general of the Arab League with the foreign ministers in order to define the final day for the meetings which might be held on May 10 and 12.

Moussa, however, is due to meet today with the Tunisian foreign minister al-Habib O Yahya who arrived in Cairo in the first visit for a Tunisian official since the postponement of the summit last March.
