Information Minister confers with Arab journalists secretary

Syria's Information Minister Ahmad al-Hasan on Tuesday received the Secretary- General of Arab Journalists Union Salah Eden al-Hafiz in the presence of Lebanese Editors Chief Melhem Karam and Journalists Union President Saber Falhout.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the region, and the important role of Arab media in confrontation of the challenges Arab nation is exposed to.

Talks also focused on the media capability to "confront the hostile misleading campaigns which aim at erasing the Arab identity and the Arab legitimate rights."

Hasan expressed hope that Arab Journalists Union will reach, during its meetings scheduled to begin tomorrow in Damascus, resolutions that serve the information field all over the Arab nation and will respond to the challenges of the forthcoming stage.
