US embassy in Riyadh warns of new attacks
The American embassy in Saudi Arabia warned yesterday its citizens of likely attacks against residential complexes where westerners live. It said that there are confirmed information indicating that al-Sader residential complex in Riyadh was under active surveillance by terrorist elements.
As a result of this information, the embassy said it had imposed restrictions on the visit of its employees and their families to residential complexes at night times in the capital Riyadh. The embassy called on American citizens to be careful and change their routes continuously.
The US warning comes three days after Britain had warned its citizens, numbering 30,000 in Saudi Arabia, what it described as extremists that might be in their final phase of planning for attacks in the kingdom.
