Release of 300 Moroccans held in Algeria

Originally published

A group of 300 Moroccans who were held captive in Algeria and released following Libya's intercession with Algerian authorities arrived this Saturday afternoon in Agadir.

King Mohammed VI received on Thursday a phone call from Libyan leader, Muammar Gadhafi, who informed the sovereign that the Moroccan prisoners will be liberated, after his country intervened with Algeria.

The international community has been repeatedly urging for the unconditional release of all Moroccans held in Algeria, in total violation of all international conventions and agreements.
