Syrian vice president confers with Barazani

Syria's Vice President Abdulhaleem Khaddam received in Damascus yesterday Chairman of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Member of the Iraqi Interim Ruling Council, Masoud Barazani and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the Islamic Summit Conference, the latest UN Security Council's resolution and Iraq's need for boosting national unity and holding elections under the supervision of the United Nations to form a legitimate government.

Viewpoints were identical regarding "the Iraqi issue stressing that Iraqis unity is the guarantee for ending the American occupation and building the Iraqi state."
