Syria summons ambassadors ofÊUN SC Permanent Members recruited in Damascus
Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister, Walid al-Mu'allim on Monday summoned the ambassadors of the five states who are permanent members of the UN Security Council ( UNSC ) and briefed them on the letter which the Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara has sent to the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan and to Chairman of the UN Security Council (UNSC).
The letter included details of the Israeli attack on a civilian site in Ein Saheb, northwest of Damascus in a flagrant violation of international laws, principles and charters which necessitates an immediate convention of the Security Council to discuss Israeli warplanes attack and to consider the necessary measures that must be taken by the Security Council to deter Israel from following an aggressive and provocative policy against Syria.
He called for the necessity of the five permanent members of the UNSC to condemn the Israeli aggressive act and to prevent Israel from repeating such act which aggravates the situation and threatens the regional and international security and stability.
He called for the necessity of the five permanent members of the UNSC to vote the Syrian draft resolution according to the international community's will of a worldwide condemnation of the Israeli aggression and to deter and prevent it from occurring again.
Al-Mu'allim stressed that "the Israeli current government through its continuous aggression on the Palestinians andÊexpanding the aggression to include Syria and Lebanon renewed the fact that it is a war government and not a peace one."
