Gas Exploration in Musandam

"Atlantis Oman, the Chinese Company that acquired Block 40 in a gas and oil production sharing agreement with the Sultanate, continues the drilling of the well “Salama” which is located in the block offshore Musandam Governorate, according to a Ministry of Oil and Gas official," Oman official news agency ONA reported.

It said "Oman Newspaper today quoted Dr. Saleh bin Ali al Anbouri, from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, as saying drilling is expected to reach the gas bearing rocks before the end of this month."
