Originally published

The UN Interim Forces in south Lebanon (UNIFIL) said yesterday it is concerned because of the raid launched by the Israeli warplanes on Wednesday evening.

UNIFIL units carried out patrols on the roads adjoining the border with Israel, extending between the coastal town of al-Naqoura, where the UN headquarters is positioned until Shebaa town on the plain of Hermon mountain to the east.

Members of the Hizbullah party which controls the border with Israel since the withdrawal of the Israeli army from south Lebanon in May 2000 carried out patrols by weapons and civilian uniforms and bikes in the border area.

The Lebanese Hizbullah party on Thursday threatened to retaliate in due time and place the Israeli raid which it described as an aggression.
