Syrian Official Source deplore the attack against UN quarters in Baghdad

An official source at Syrian foreign ministry announced yesterday the following: Syrian Arab Republic expresses her strong denunciation over the bomb blast on U.N. headquarter in Baghdad by which the top United Nations envoy in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello was killed.

Syria expresses her deepest condolences to U.N. Secretary - General and to the victims' families. This condemned criminal act should not affect the central U.N. role in helping the Iraqi people to restore their freedom and independence.
