Human rights situation in Algerian rear base under fire
The human rights violations perpetrated by the Polisario separatists in the Algerian rear desert base of Tindouf, where they are sheltered, have come under fire during intensive contacts a Moroccan NGO delegation held with United Nations specialized agencies.
The delegation, including activists working in human rights in the Moroccan Sahara, slammed the Polisario separatists and their mentors for the inhumane conditions they inflict on Moroccan Saharawis sequestered in Tindouf and on Moroccan prisoners of war, still detained in their dark dungeons in complete and blatant defiance of international laws.
The activists urged the international community not to let the crimes committed by the Polisario go unpunished.
The group is currently in Geneva to attend the 55th session of the U.N Sub-Commission for Human Rights Promotion and Protection, held in Geneva July 28 through August 15.
