Emirates confirms arresting Nasheiri, handing him to USA
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities stressed yesterday it had arrested al-Qaida official in charge of the Gulf region, Abdul Rahim al- Nusheiri, at the end of October.
The UAE news agency said that al-Nasheiri known as Ameer al-Baher ( the Prince of the Sea) "was preparing to bomb key economic targets inside the state." A prominent UAE official said that Nusheiri was handed over to the USA.
In November the USA announced that Abdul Rahim al-Nusheiri was arrested in a Gulf state. This is, however, the fist time in which the UAE announces the detention of al-Qaida official.
