Originally published

The secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa has stressed the need of intensifying Arab efforts in order to boost development in southern Sudan. He suggested that the Southern Sudan rebuilding Fund of the Arab League will be converted to an Arab commission to develop and rebuilding Southern Sudan and to consider this commission as a side authorized to coordinate between the Arab states and various funds and sides willing to establish projects in Southern Sudan.

This was expressed in a speech Moussa made before the inaugural session of the round-table session of the AL member states and the Arab financing and investment funds which was held on Thursday at the AL headquarters in Cairo with the participation of the Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael and AL delegate on Sudan Nadia Makram Obeid.
