Algeria: an armed group assassinates 21 persons

An Algerian official source said yesterday that an armed Islamic group assassinated 21 persons and wounded other three persons on Thursday evening in Buqdeir in al-Shalaf province ( 200 Km to the west of the capital Algiers.)

The Algerian official news agency said the victims who belong to the same family were killed by bullets and knives. The source continued that among the killed is a three- month old infant who was killed by bullet and another person 65 year old, while the wounded were hit in their heads by bullets and were admitted to hospital in the area, in grave health conditions.

Some 15 persons were killed in the same area ( including 13 children) in October 15 and 13 persons in the first of October.

The two operations were described to have been carried out by armed Islamic groups.
