Ten Algerian soldiers, killed, wounded in ambush

Several Algerian dailies said on Sunday that four military men were killed and other 6 wounded in an ambush by an armed group in Skikda province against an armored vehicle.

The papers said that the military vehicle was surprised by the ambush, planted in Bantous situated on the road between Skikda and Bani Basheer. One Islamist wounded during the operation was arrested.

On the other hand, the Algerian news agency said that one military man was wounded on Friday in a bomb explosion in Batinah, and therefore number of killings increased in acts of violence in Algeria since the beginning of this month to 134 including 80 Islamists according to statistics laid according to official and press figures.
