New gas well in west al-Raqqa, 200,000 cm production capacity

The minister of oil and mineral resources in Syria Ibrahim Haddad said on Tuesday that a new gas field was discovered, 70 Km to the east of Raqqa, by the Syrian oil company.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent, the minister said that the said well production capacity is 200,000 cubic meters of gas daily, according to a preliminary study. The minister noted that this well supports the national production of currently invested gas estimated at 22 million cubic meters. he minister hopes that new gas wells will be found in the area.

Worthy mentioning that the Syrian oil company is following up drilling and exploration works for oil and gas by using totally and locally developed expertise.
