An explosion near the American embassy in Sanaa; demonstrations

A large explosion took place on Friday in Sanaa in the quarters where the American embassy headquarters is situated.

The police hurried to the site of the explosion and installed barriers around the quarters. It was not learnt whether the explosion resulted in damages and casualties.

On the other hand a huge demonstration was held in Sanaa on Friday in support of the Palestinian people struggle against the Israeli occupation in which the demonstrators raised banners reading "No for the American- Israeli terrorism," " yes for the Palestinian state and death for American and Israel." The Yemeni demonstrators also raised the Lebanese national resistance and Palestinians flags.

Eye- witnesses said that the Yemeni security forces prevented the demonstrators from reaching the premises of the American embassy in Sanaa to express their protest over the Israeli practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.
