Moussa: Arab summit comes in critical stage

Originally published

The General-Secretary of Arab League, Amr Moussa, has stressed that the Arab summit slated for March 27-28, comes in a very critical stage, saying that the current situation is dangerous and the general atmosphere is not in favour of the Arabs.

Addressing the inauguration party of models of the Arab League (AL) and the United Nations (UN) Moussa says that the summit will discuss sensitive topics pertaining on peace in the Middle East and eventualities of dealing a strike to an Arab country in addition to other topics on building the Arab system.

Warning against the deterioration of conditions in the Mideast and collapse of the peace process, Moussa stressed that the peace process could not move due to the current Israeli policy.

He said that the political Israeli viewpoint did not see peace as all world states did, noting that Israeli wanted an Israeli-made peace which it wants to impose on others by force.

He added that the Israeli conception on peace has collapsed due to the Palestinian steadfastness reflected in the Intifada and the Arab stance with all its political and diplomatic dimensions.
