Arab Maghreb summit to be held before end of July
Algerian foreign minister Abdul Aziz Balkhadem has announced that the coming summit of the leaders of the Arab Maghreb states federation will be held in Algiers within the first six months of 2002 on the ground that consultations will be made with the leaders of the Maghreb states in order to set a date for convening.
Worthy mentioning that meetings of the Maghreb summit were suspended since 1994 after Libya had refused to assume the presidency at that time, and then Morocco asked freezing the federation's activities.
